Pre-Shipment Inspection - lastest news

The Alex Stewart Group offices in the UK and Rotterdam are currently registered by the DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) to act as agents, authorised for the pre-shipment inspection of 'un-shredded, compressed and loose forms of metallic waste and scrap' imported into India.     
 
The DGFT are currently in the process of reviewing their list of registered agencies following a re-registration exercise, the deadline for renewal being 31st July 2008.

The Alex Stewart Group has not applied to renew its registration as we are not prepared to comply with the DGFT requirements in respect of wording to be used in the pre-shipment inspection reports.
 
As a result of the decision not to apply for renewal, as of 31st August 2008, the Alex Stewart Group will discontinue offering pre-shipment inspection services of metallic waste and scrap to India under DGFT guidelines and will no longer accept nominations.
 
Please be advised that this decision does not impact any other service offered by the Alex Stewart Group and its subsidiaries.
 
We regret any inconvenience caused as a result of this change in our Group policy however, please be assured that nominations already accepted by the Alex Stewart Group, but not yet fulfilled, will be processed.
